The Huntington University softball team will continue their stretch of games at the Tucson Invitational Games today when they face Hamline and Edgewood in a pair of games in Tucson, Arizona.

The Foresters entered the Tucson Invitational Games with an 0–2 record following a pair of losses to open their season against No. 13 Lindsey Wilson on March 2 in Columbia, Kentucky.

The Blue Raiders blitzed Huntington for a 7–0 decision in the first game before squeaking out a 1–0 win in game two.

Sophomore pitcher Meghan Fretz tossed four innings to start game one for the Foresters, giving up seven hits and six runs.

Sophomore pitcher MacKyndsea Burke came on in relief to pitch two innings, allowing three hits and one run.

The Forester offense struggled in game one, generating just two hits throughout the contest thanks to sophomore infielder Jada Crofoot and freshman catcher Denaia Rice.

Sophomore pitcher Mallory West threw six innings in game two, giving up seven hits and just one run to keep Huntington in the game.

Though the Forester offense mustered five hits in game two, Huntington could not get on the board, resulting in another shutout win for Lindsey Wilson.

Hamline entered the week sporting a 6–4 record, with six of those games being played in Tuscon.

The Pipers also played a pair of games on Monday, but results were not available as of The Herald-Press’s deadline. Hamline fell 3–2 to Buena Vista in their second game on Sunday.

Edgewood came into the Tucson Invitational Games with a 3–1 record. The Eagles also played two games on Monday. In game one of the day, Edgewood defeated MacMurray 9–1. However, results from the Eagles’ second game were not available as of The Herald-Press’s deadline.

The Foresters also battled in a pair of contests on Monday against No. 21 Midland, but results of the doubleheader were not available as of The Herald-Press’s deadline.

First pitch for Huntington’s game against Hamline is set for 12 p.m., while the Foresters’ duel with Edgewood is slated for a 4:30 p.m. start.
