Forks of the Wabash Pioneer Festival scarecrow contest

STAFF REPORT

Students from kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to participate in the scarecrow contest at the 44th annual Forks of the Wabash Pioneer Festival. Participants will have an opportunity to create their very own scarecrows and be in the running for a prize.

The rules for the contest include:

Scarecrows are to be child-made with minimal adult help.

Scarecrows are not to be bloody or gory in any fashion.

Scarecrows are not to be political or to reflect political views.

Participants will need to drop their scarecrows off on Friday, Sept. 27 between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Participants will need to fill out a registration form they drop off their scarecrow.

Scarecrows must be picked up by Sunday, Sept. 29 between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. otherwise they will be thrown away at the end of the festival.

The scarecrows will voted on by a committee of Pioneer Festival representatives. Winners will be announced Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2 p.m. Participants do not have to be present for the announcement to win.
