HCCSC student spotlight

by Tiffanney Drummond - Director of Career and Technical Education

Kaiden Huftel is a senior at Huntington North High School. He chose to participate in the HNHS Criminal Justice program, located at the Huntington County Community Learning Center because he was interested in law enforcement and wanted to further his education in that field.

“My favorite part of this class has to be the teacher,” Huftel said. “It really helps us (the students) understand the more technical things when Terry tells us about his experiences.”

Huftel recommends the class to other students interested in Criminal Justice.

“Take this class,” said Huftel. “Even if you change your mind about going into Criminal Justice, the things you learn will help you whenever you come into contact with law enforcement.”

After high school, Huftel plans to look for a job in a jail setting. After that, he hopes to work on a police force or in a sheriff’s department, with aspirations of being a chief of police or Sheriff.

“Kaiden is a wonderful student and cares about this program and his future,” said Criminal Justice instructor Terry Stoffel. “He is a true leader and has stepped up this year as a role model. Kaiden is always going the extra mile to make sure things are going smoothly. It is my belief that Kaiden will excel in this field of law enforcement.”
