While a few weeks ago the Board of Public Works and Safety rejected the bids received to rehab Memorial Park WPA Stone Race channel, on Tuesday it unanimously voted to declare the historic waterway in a state of emergency.
After much discussion, BOW member Dwight Brautigam moved to approve the emergency declaration for the Stone Race Rehabilitation project, consider quotes recommended by the project manager and staff at a special meeting next Tuesday, and vote on it at its June 5 regular meeting in an effort to move forward with the project this summer.
