Huntington Parks and Recreation hosted a Paint Your Pet event recently at the Brickhouse Grill. Forty people attended and received guidance from professional artist Zach Lowe on how to do it.
Each participant sent a photo of their pet to Lowe a couple of weeks before the event. Upon arrival painters were given a canvas with a rough sketch of their dog, cat or horse. Then for the next 3 hours the pet owners received step by step instructions from Lowe on how to create their work of art. He gave instructions for what colors to paint first, how to mix colors, outlining, shading and more. Servers from the Brickhouse were available if the budding artists wanted to order food and drinks while they painted.
Terra Rowley is a Huntington County resident who has a Bachelor of Music, Master of Music Therapy, and Doctor of Special Education degrees. She works and volunteers for a variety of organizations in the community.
