The city of Huntington and the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce recently announced in their weekly newsletters a rollout of celebrating two anniversaries this year, a 150th and a 175th on a journey to what the city is today as they gear up for the year.

The city’s highlights began with Huntington’s official 175th Anniversary of becoming a town on Feb. 16, 1848, when James Whitcomb served as Indiana’s eighth governor, and its 150th Anniversary of becoming a city is Sept. 17, 1873, according to the city.
