Residents of Huntington with decaying sidewalks will be able to apply for financial assistance from the city, the Department of Public Works and Engineering Services announced Wednesday.

Any property owners, including business owners, are eligible to receive up to 50 percent of the cost to replace sections of existing sidewalk. After receiving a quote on the price per square foot from a construction company, residents must then complete a two-page application on the city’s website detailing the proposed cost. Adam Cuttriss, Director of Public Works and Engineering, mentioned that it is important for applicants to attach a copy of the quote when submitting the application.
