Community garden prep

The Helping Hands Community Garden, part of the Huntington County Purdue Extension, is holding a “clean-up and prep” event on April 17. Participants will construct new beds from cinder blocks and clear debris.

The Helping Hands Community Garden in Huntington will host its first event this spring on Saturday.

The ‘clean-up and prep’ event will be held at 10 a.m., according to community garden coordinator Dianne Holycross. She said that at the event, participants will clear debris from the winter months and prepare the beds for planting in the coming weeks and months. Additionally, Holycross said that they will put in a new bed made with cinder blocks.
