Huntington Police Chief Cory Boxell on Tuesday recommended that the Huntington City Common Council not move forward with requested changes to a city ordinance regarding the discharge of firearms within city limits.
The original request was first brought to the Council at their Feb. 28 meeting by an Oak Street resident who asked that there be a change to the firearms ordinance which would allow residents to fire blanks on New Years Eve and Fourth of July in conjunction with fireworks.
