Superintendent of HCCSC John Trout

HCCSC Superintendent John Trout is still moving into his new office pictured here. The former Huntington assistant superintendent was handling business and staff duties and will continue with that role as well as be superintendent. His goals for the schools includes a long-range, comprehensive plan.

Walking into Salamonie Elementary School last week to meet with the new Huntington County Community School District superintendent days after the first day of school, one can feel the newness of starting school was still in the air with a welcome back-to-school feeling.

Nevertheless, one couldn’t get in the building without pressing a button to talk into a speaker, stating why you’re there and someone inside remotely opens the door. The building is located in rural farming land. Expect to hand over your personal identification for scanning and receiving a name tag electronically printed immediately at the front desk.
